Asha Rangappa

Asha Rangappa is a Senior Lecturer at the Yale University’s Jackson Institute for Global Affairs and a former Associate Dean at Yale Law School. Prior to her current position, Asha served as a Special Agent in the New York Division of the FBI, specializing in counterintelligence investigations. Her work involved assessing threats to national security, conducting classified investigations on suspected foreign agents, and performing undercover work. While in the FBI, Asha gained experience in intelligence tradecraft, electronic surveillance, interview and interrogation techniques, and firearms and the use of deadly force. She has taught National Security Law and related courses at Yale University, Wesleyan University, and University of New Haven.

Asha graduated cum laude from the Woodrow Wilson School of International and Public Affairs at Princeton University and was awarded a Fulbright scholarship to study constitutional reform in Bogotá, Colombia. She received her law degree from Yale Law School and served as a law clerk to the Honorable Juan R. Torruella on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She is admitted to the State Bar of New York (2003) and Connecticut (2003).

Tanmay Bakshi

Tanmay Bakshi, 14, began coding at the age of five and is among the youngest developers using cognitive and cloud computing to build applications engineered to augment human capabilities. He is a neural-network architect, author, algorithm-ist, keynote and TED speaker, IBM Champion & Honorary IBM Cloud Advisor and also the host of an IBM Facebook Live Series called Watson Made Simple with Tanmay. His passion for learning and sharing through his YouTube channel, books, and other media has taught him how to best utilize and apply cognitive computing in fields ranging from banking and finance to healthcare and medicine to music and chatbots.

Tanmay is currently working to achieve his goal of inspiring and training 100,000 kids and novice developers to help them create their own solutions. Tanmay believes "AI+ Cognitive" is about augmenting humans' capabilities rather than replacing humans or taking over jobs. This is seen in his healthcare technology creations, which are aimed at extending the capabilities of disabled patients through cognitive IoT systems.

Chandy Ghosh

Chandy Ghosh is a well-respected leader in the Telecommunications & Technology industries. She is currently the Chief Operating Officer and General Manager at Inteliquent’s, 9-1-1 Emergency Services division.

Ms. Ghosh has served in several other leadership positions including: Executive Vice President of Technology at West Safety Services/Intrado, Longmont, Colorado, running nation-wide 9-1-1 solutions, critical Infrastructure governed by the Dept. of Homeland Security, VP, Customer Digital Strategy, CenturyLink; Executive Partner at ThoughtWorks, Global Head, Product Delivery at Johnson Controls/GWS; CIO at CQG & Principal Consultant at KPMG-BearingPoint.Ms. Ghosh’s education includes Harvard Executive Development Program sponsored by U S WEST; Master of Process, Michael Hammer Program, Cambridge MA; Strategic Leadership, Center for Creative Leadership, Colorado Springs. She has CJIS certification & degrees in MBA, Information Systems & MS, Physics, Chemistry and Math.Ms. Ghosh is on the Board of several organizations including Colorado Women’s Hall of Fame, HMG Strategy, SIM C-Suite Colorado & Colorado Technology Association’s Women-in-Technology. She remains committed to “luminating” the path for future industry leaders. She is especially passionate about mentoring women and minorities and serving as a role model for the next generation of technology women leaders.

Dr. Nana Banerjee

Dr. Nana Banerjee is the global CEO and President of McGraw-Hill Education, which operates in 125 countries and offers learning solutions in 60 languages.Prior to McGraw Hill, he was the group president of Verisk (Nasdaq: VRSK, market cap $18B), overseeing Verisk’s Argus, LCI, G2, Geomni, Maplecroft, Fintellix and Verisk Retail businesses. Dr. Banerjee came to Verisk as part of its acquisition of Argus, where he was chief operating officer. In prior roles, he served as head of Citibank’s credit card business in the United Kingdom and as vice president of marketing at GE Capital.

Dr. Banerjee has a Ph.D. in applied mathematics from the State University of New York; a master of science degree in mathematics from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi; and a bachelor of science degree with honors in mathematics from St. Stephens College, Delhi.

Nana Banerjee

Sabyasachi (“Sabby”) Ray

Sabby is the Chief Operating Officer for AIG Life and Retirement. The role includes leading Strategic Operations and Customer Office functions, focusing on customer insights and customer experience. As COO, Sabby is also responsible for ensuring first line of defense across different business functions. Prior to this role, Sabby was based in Japan as Regional Claims and Operations for Asia Pacific.

Sabby joined AIG in 2005 in Consumer Finance Group in New York. He was CEO of Asia Consumer Finance Group, based in Hong Kong, managing consumer finance businesses with assets over US$2 Billion and income over US$50 Million. However, changes to global macro-economic environment in 2008, prompted a business decision to divest all Consumer Finance businesses worldwide, including Asia. He led divestiture and de-integration/separation initiatives.

Prior to AIG, Sabby worked in Citigroup for 15 years. He played different roles during this period within US and Asia, including, Japan and Singapore. His roles included managing complex Mergers and Acquisitions integrations, building an Affluent Retail Banking Business, re-engineering branch operations and managing centralized operations.

Sabby has a Masters in Business Administration from Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, India in 1991. He has also a Bachelors of Engineering degree in Electronics and Electrical Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology and Sciences, Pilani, India in 1987.

Kalyan Das

Kalyan (“Kal”) Das is the Head of the Global Bank and Institutional Finance & Restructuring Practice Group at Seward & Kissel. He focuses primarily in the areas of structured finance, asset-backed and mortgage-backed securities transactions, domestic and international banking transactions, project finance, capital markets, distressed debt trading, second lien financing, institutional finance and private placements.

Kal is a member of the Board of Directors of the New York University Law School Alumni Association, and a member of the Board of Trustees of Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, New York. He is the President of FISH (London) Inc., a not-for-profit organization that works with SOAS, London University and ISH (London) with respect to higher education for deserving students

He received a Barrister-at-Law degree from The Lincoln's Inn in 1979 and an LL.M. from New York University School of Law in 1989, and is listed in the New York Super Lawyers 2006 – 2010, 2012- 2017 editions as one of the top banking attorneys in New York. Kal and his team were chosen as Banking & Finance Law Firm of the Year in New York for 2016 and 2017 by Global Law Experts.

Dr. Arka Mukherjee

Dr. Arka Mukherjee, the founder and CEO of Global IDs Inc., is an expert in global data management, with extensive experience in creating new technologies to assist businesses in the U.S. and around the world. Under his leadership, Global IDs has developed Master Data Management and Data Governance products and solutions for a myriad of Fortune 2000 companies across multiple vertical industries.

Prior to Global IDs, as the principal of IBM Global Services, he was the practice leader in business intelligence services and was responsible for building and growing this e-business practice. He received a Ph.D. in Computational Chemistry from Princeton University.

Arka Mukherjee

Sandeep Chakravorty

Sandeep Chakravorty, a member of the Indian Foreign Service (IFS) since 1996, has served in India’s Missions in several countries. Prior to becoming Consul General of India in New York in August, 2017, he was the Ambassador of India to Peru and Bolivia. Earlier he had been India’s Deputy Chief of Mission in Bangladesh. He has also served in Indian Embassies in Madrid and Bogota. In India’s Ministry of External Affairs he has held several positions including Press Relations Officer, Staff Officer to Minister and worked on desks dealing with Central Asia, East Asia and China.

Before joining the Government, Mr. Chakravorty worked with civil society organizations dealing with natural resources and environmental issues.

He has a Master’s degree in Advanced Studies in International Security from Geneva University, a Master’s degree in Sociology besides a Post Graduate Diploma in Forestry Management. He graduated in Physics from Delhi University.

He speaks Hindi, Bangla and Spanish fluently. In his spare time he reads up on International Relations and the Environment and enjoys visiting historical sites. He is married and is father of twin daughters.


Sumit Ganguli

Sumit is a General Partner at Basil Partners, an early stage PE firm. He is the CEO of one of Basil’s portfolio companies, GAVS Technologies. In the past, he has been the Head of M&A, Consulting and Global Sales for a publicly-traded (NASDAQ) IT Services company and has been the Group CEO of a publicly listed International Technology company. He is an Electrical Engineer and has a PG in Management from IIM Kolkata and from Stern School of Management, NYU. He is presently undergoing an OPM Executive Program at HBS. He has been an Adjunct Professor teaching Executive MBA and Part time MBA students at Rutgers University, State University of New Jersey.

Sumit is one of the founder charter members of TiE NJ/Phily and has been a guest speaker at various industry forums, Universities and MBA schools. He has been in the Information Technology industry for the last 25+ years and is fascinated with the new trends in technologies in Predictive Analytics, AI, Automation etc.. and is promoting some of these competencies at GAVS. GAVS has introduced the concept of AI based Incident tracking system, GAVEL and Zero Incident Framework for Computer Infrastructure Network and works with some of the leading clients in the US, UK, ME and India.
