Dr. Nana Banerjee
Dr. Nana Banerjee is group president of Verisk (Nasdaq: VRSK, market cap $15B), overseeing Verisk’s Argus, LCI, G2, Geomni, Maplecroft, Fintellix and Verisk Retail businesses. He also has oversight responsibility for Verisk’s joint data and development environment and Verisk’s centralized advanced research and analytics group. Dr. Banerjee came to Verisk as part of its acquisition of Argus, where he was chief operating officer. In prior roles, he served as head of Citibank’s credit card business in the United Kingdom and as vice president of marketing at GE Capital. Dr. Banerjee was named Verisk group president in 2016.
Dr. Banerjee has a Ph.D. in applied mathematics from the State University of New York; a master of science degree in mathematics from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi; and a bachelor of science degree with honors in mathematics from St. Stephens College, Delhi.
Asha Rangappa is a Senior Lecturer at the Yale University’s Jackson Institute for Global Affairs and a former Associate Dean at Yale Law School. Prior to her current position, Asha served as a Special Agent in the New York Division of the FBI, specializing in counterintelligence investigations. Her work involved assessing threats to national security, conducting classified investigations on suspected foreign agents, and performing undercover work. While in the FBI, Asha gained experience in intelligence tradecraft, electronic surveillance, interview and interrogation techniques, and firearms and the use of deadly force. She has taught National Security Law and related courses at Yale University, Wesleyan University, and University of New Haven.
Asha graduated cum laude from the Woodrow Wilson School of International and Public Affairs at Princeton University and was awarded a Fulbright scholarship to study constitutional reform in Bogotá, Colombia. She received her law degree from Yale Law School and served as a law clerk to the Honorable Juan R. Torruella on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She is admitted to the State Bar of New York (2003) and Connecticut (2003).
Kalyan (“Kal”) Das is the Head of the Global Bank and Institutional Finance & Restructuring Practice Group at Seward & Kissel. He focuses primarily in the areas of structured finance, asset-backed and mortgage-backed securities transactions, domestic and international banking transactions, project finance, capital markets, distressed debt trading, second lien financing, institutional finance and private placements.
Kal is a member of the Board of Directors of the New York University Law School Alumni Association, and a member of the Board of Trustees of Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, New York. He is the President of FISH (London) Inc., a not-for-profit organization that works with SOAS, London University and ISH (London) with respect to higher education for deserving students
He received a Barrister-at-Law degree from The Lincoln's Inn in 1979 and an LL.M. from New York University School of Law in 1989, and is listed in the New York Super Lawyers 2006 – 2010, 2012- 2017 editions as one of the top banking attorneys in New York. Kal and his team were chosen as Banking & Finance Law Firm of the Year in New York for 2016 and 2017 by Global Law Experts.
Tanmay Bakshi, 14, began coding at the age of five and is among the youngest developers using cognitive and cloud computing to build applications engineered to augment human capabilities. He is a neural-network architect, author, algorithm-ist, keynote and TED speaker, IBM Champion & Honorary IBM Cloud Advisor and also the host of an IBM Facebook Live Series called Watson Made Simple with Tanmay. His passion for learning and sharing through his YouTube channel, books, and other media has taught him how to best utilize and apply cognitive computing in fields ranging from banking and finance to healthcare and medicine to music and chatbots.
Tanmay is currently working to achieve his goal of inspiring and training 100,000 kids and novice developers to help them create their own solutions. Tanmay believes "AI+ Cognitive" is about augmenting humans' capabilities rather than replacing humans or taking over jobs. This is seen in his healthcare technology creations, which are aimed at extending the capabilities of disabled patients through cognitive IoT systems.
Sumit is a General Partner at Basil Partners and is the CEO of one of Basil’s portfolio companies, GAVS Technologies. He is on the board of few technology companies.In the past he has been the Head of M&A, Consulting and Global Sales for a publicly-traded (NASDAQ) IT Services company and has been the CEO of a publicly listed company. He has pursued a JV with GE and has engaged with GE for over 15 years.He is an Electrical Engineer and has a PG in Management from IIM Kolkata and an Advanced Professional Certificate from Stern School of Management, NYU. He is presently undergoing an OPM Executive Program at HBS. He has been an Adjunct Professor teaching Executive MBA and Part time MBA students at Rutgers University, State University of New Jersey.
Sumit is one of the founder charter members of TiE NJ/Phily and has been a guest speaker at various industry forums, Universities and MBA schools.He has been in the Information Technology industry for the last 25+ years and is fascinated with the new trends in technologies in Predictive Analytics, AI, Automation etc.. and is promoting some of these competencies at GAVS. Sumit is a strong proponent of Culture in the corporate world, and believes, “Culture eats strategy for breakfast”. The leadership team at GAVS and Sumit would like to create a company of “Purpose” within GAVS and espouse the values of Respect, Integrity, Trust and Empathy through their business interactions.Individually and through GAVS, Sumit has been involved in various community service activities, and actively pursues tennis, golf and gym activities.
Chandy Ghosh is a well-respected leader in the Telecommunications & Technology industries. She is currently the Chief Operating Officer and General Manager at Inteliquent’s, 9-1-1 Emergency Services division.
Ms. Ghosh has served in several other leadership positions including: Executive Vice President of Technology at West Safety Services/Intrado, Longmont, Colorado, running nation-wide 9-1-1 solutions, critical Infrastructure governed by the Dept. of Homeland Security, VP, Customer Digital Strategy, CenturyLink; Executive Partner at ThoughtWorks, Global Head, Product Delivery at Johnson Controls/GWS; CIO at CQG & Principal Consultant at KPMG-BearingPoint.Ms. Ghosh’s education includes Harvard Executive Development Program sponsored by U S WEST; Master of Process, Michael Hammer Program, Cambridge MA; Strategic Leadership, Center for Creative Leadership, Colorado Springs. She has CJIS certification & degrees in MBA, Information Systems & MS, Physics, Chemistry and Math.Ms. Ghosh is on the Board of several organizations including Colorado Women’s Hall of Fame, HMG Strategy, SIM C-Suite Colorado & Colorado Technology Association’s Women-in-Technology.
